Although the psychiatric reform has emphasized the creation of community care structures, there are still major deficiencies in both infrastructure and the use of modern methodologies that facilitate the social inclusion of people with mental health problems. In recent years, therapeutic approaches based on the Recovery and Co-production models have gained wide acceptance in Europe. The scientific workshop is taking place in the framework of the project “Inclusive society for people with mental health problems: Training of mental health professionals, informal caregivers and mental health service recipients in the Recovery methodology” implemented by PEPSAEE, the ARGO Federation and the Greek Caregivers Network EpiONI with the support of the Bodossaki Foundation.

The aim of the project is the education and training of the following three groups.

The PROSPECT training
EUFAMI (European Federation of Associations of Families of People with Mental Illness) developed the Prospect training and empowerment programme, based on innovative concepts such as:
Peer to peer support

Not providing ready-made solutions but opening up to new ways of thinking and perspectives.

It consists of 3 different training programmes and a common ground module. The three different training programmes address the following target groups:

  • Family and friends
  • Mental Health Users
  • Health professionals

The Scientific Workshop will take place on Friday 15 December 2023 at 09:30-13:30, at the Specialized Day Centre – “Centre for Social Dialogue” of PEPSAEE, 41 Epirou Street, Athens. A light lunch will follow after the end of the workshop. The programme is expected to be announced in the coming days.
