The Erasmus+ funded \u201cEcaris (Educating Carers of Kidney Patients)\u201d project is pleased to launch its new website platform https:\/\/ecaris.eu\/. The project\u2019s aims is to develop an educational activity programmes to improve the skill and knowledge of the carer, providing support so to address the repeated daily obligations of people living with kidney disease and the care relationship between carers and kidney patients The majority of patients with Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) and patients with kidneys insufficiency rely on their family members for their daily activities and medical care, since the family is the best source for providing care to these patients.
\nCaregivers often experience disappointment, isolation and failure due to a lack of support, training and experience. The project will focus on the needs and problems faced by family caregivers and professionals working with the caregivers of patients with CKN and ESRD (Kidney disease at the terminal stage) from Greece, Spain, Denmark and Italy. The mainly possible results after completing our project are:
\n1.Implementing educative programs about nutrition, medication, light body exercise for patients of every stage of CKD and ESRD. Associated partners, with their nephrologists, will have a cautious contribution on this field.<\/p>\n

  1. Improving the daily life for the caregiver and the patient receiving the necessary care.
    \nThe Project Ecaris web-platform will feature news, blogs, project\u2019s findings and updates, such as reports, policy briefs as well as opportunities for collaboration, e.g. events announcements and face to face training sessions.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    The project, currently in its first phase, is delivered in partnership with 5 European partners, namely Saronic Nephrological Center (Greece); Greek Carers Network EPIONI (Greece); Anziani e non solo Societ\u00e0, Cooperativa Sociale (Italy); Federaci\u00f3n Nacional de Asociaciones ALCER (Spain) and Danish Committee for Health Education (Denmark).<\/p>\n
