EPIONI, on Friday, May 8, 2020, successfully organized a\u00a0webinar on\u00a0supporting carers of people with heart disease during the coronavirus era.
\nInteresting presentations were made by Mr. Stecy Yghemonos from the European Federation of Eurocarers and Mr. Liam O\u2019Sullivan from Care Alliance Ireland on the situation in Europe and Ireland regarding caregivers amid the COVID-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n

In the webinar, which lasted 1.5 hours, the cardiologist and assistant professor of the European University of Cyprus Mr. Elias Tsougos, after sharing his grief over the death of the cardiologist Prof. Dimitris Kremastinos, whom he described as a mentor, referred to the protection measures heart disease patients and their caregivers can take in the coronavirus era.
\nThe doctor and psychotherapist Dr. Kelly Panagiotopoulou referred to the contribution of psychotherapy to the daily lives of patients with heart disease and their caregiver, amid an epidemic.<\/p>\n

Ms. Ioanna Levanti told a moving story about her personal heart transplant experience<\/p>\n

Mr. Stavros Terzakis referred to the value of blood donation for society and the noteworthy blood bank of the\u00a0\u201cAssociation\u00a0of Heart Patients of the Hellenic Navy\u201d<\/p>\n

Psychiatrist Dimitris Kontis referred to the psychological support of caregivers of patients with cardiac disorders.<\/p>\n

Psychologist Jovanna Markovic gave useful advice for the support of caregivers of chronic heart\u00a0patients.<\/p>\n

Mr. Homer Papadopoulos,\u00a0Researcher\u00a0in\u00a0Demokritos\u00a0referred to\u00a0AI (Artificial\u00a0Intelligence)\u00a0technologies that support the daily lives of patients with heart disease.<\/p>\n

The event was organized in collaboration with: Heart of the Child, Skytali and the\u00a0\u201cAssociation\u00a0of Heart Patients of the Hellenic Navy\u201d\u00a0, and with the kind support of Interamerican and\u00a0Pharmaserve Lilly.<\/p>\n
