The City of Athens proves once again to be a steadfast and invaluable ally to non-profit associations and foundations, renewing a commendable initiative that serves as a model of genuine care and support for members of the local community.<\/p>\n
The program offered free hospitality to members of non-profit organizations at the City of Athens camp in Agios Andreas, Attica, from August 29 to September 18, 2026. Through this initiative, persons with disabilities and family caregivers had the opportunity to enjoy a meaningful period of rest, recreation, and creative engagement at no financial cost.<\/p>\n
The City of Athens camp, located in Agios Andreas approximately 30 km from the center of Athens, spans a 180-acre pine-covered area where the mountain harmoniously meets the sea. It is considered one of the finest camps in the Balkans, fully equipped with modern sports facilities and infrastructure built to European standards, ensuring both comfortable living and complete camper safety. By fully covering the costs of accommodation, meals, and recreational activities, the City of Athens reaffirmed its practical commitment to strengthening social cohesion and providing tangible support to vulnerable groups.<\/p>\n
The members of EPIONI experienced a truly unique time once again. In addition to moments of relaxation, participants took an active role in art workshops organized by the City of Athens, developing their creativity and fostering team spirit through nature activities and cultural initiatives.<\/p>\n
Furthermore, during their stay, a meeting took place with members of the team from the mental health organization Thalpos in Nea Makri, strengthening bonds of solidarity and cooperation between organizations in the sector.<\/p>\n
