An event dedicated to those who care – for empowerment and mental wellbeing
The Greek Carers Network EPIONI successfully held the 7th Conference entitled “Caregivers and Depression” on Monday, 28 April 2025, at 15:00, at Metropolitan College (46 Egnatia Street, 1st floor) in Thessaloniki.
The conference constituted an important initiative aimed at raising awareness, providing information, and empowering family and informal caregivers, highlighting the mental health challenges they face—particularly depression—and the need for accessible support.
The event was held under the auspices of the Hellenic Psychiatric Association and was supported by IASIS at Work, the Society of Social Psychiatry “P. Sakellaropoulos”, and Alzheimer Hellas.
During the conference, mental health professionals presented evidence-based approaches and innovative practices for supporting caregivers. The programme also encouraged dialogue, exchange of experiences, and networking among caregivers, professionals, and civil society organisations.
The strong participation and active engagement of attendees confirmed the importance of continuous initiatives focused on caregivers’ mental wellbeing and the recognition of their essential role in society.
The conference was addressed to family caregivers, health and mental health professionals, volunteers, and all those interested in supporting caregiving and mental wellbeing.
