In the daily rhythm of caregiving, many of us gradually lost touch with our own voice. Through this series of meetings, we offered a safe, welcoming space for expression — a place where caring for others could coexist with caring for ourselves.

This free supportive intervention was designed especially for informal carers: parents, partners, adult children, relatives, friends, and anyone who provided ongoing support to a loved one. It also welcomed professionals who carried a caregiving role in their personal life and wanted to reconnect with their own needs through creativity.

Across 20 sessions (90 minutes each), participants came together in a small group setting to share experiences, reduce feelings of isolation, and explore the emotional weight of caregiving in a respectful and non-judgemental environment. Using dramatherapy methods — images, roles, symbols, storytelling, movement, and play — the group supported carers to express what is often difficult to say in words, strengthen emotional resilience, and rediscover parts of themselves that may have been put “on hold” by daily responsibilities.

An individual introductory meeting took place before joining the group, ensuring that each participant felt informed, comfortable, and supported from the beginning.
